Understanding the challenge
Heart diseases are among the most common illnesses in Germany. Every year more than 1.7 million patients are treated in hospitals because of heart conditions. This is a major burden for patients their families and the healthcare system. Despite this high relevance many patients and their relatives do not fully understand diagnoses and treatment options.

Designing a seamless experience
Overall, the application received strong positive feedback for its intuitive usability, time efficiency, and visually clear design. Users valued the flexible, needs-based interaction model without mandatory engagement, as well as the supportive and educational content around diagnoses and psychological stress. However, the feedback also highlighted UX improvement areas, including push notifications that were perceived as intrusive, a partially complex onboarding experience and a need for more contextual and in-depth information to support user understanding.

App for the Doctor
The app supports the final consultation and enables clear and visual communication between doctors and patients. It allows simple input of diagnoses tests and treatments using medical standards and offers visual tools such as interactive 3D models and medical illustrations. All relevant information is handed over to patients through a secure QR code without cloud storage.
App for the Patient
This is the second part of the concept and is designed as a digital health application prescribed by cardiologists. It offers personalized learning based on the individual diagnosis and user preferences. Patients can choose between three levels of detail: simple recommended and detailed. Multimedia content such as 3D models illustrations and text to speech helps explain complex topics and medical terms are clearly explained to reduce language barriers.
